Study, Reflect, Meditate
Those who are very close to us are our best means for discovering the nature of our connectedness with other beings. On the basis of these heart connections, we can gradually come to recognize that ultimately we have that same connection with all beings.
This is the importance and ultimate significance of the deep heart connections we feel we have with certain people. When death divides us, we have to let go, but that doesn’t mean that deep connection is meaningless. On the contrary, it means we should use that heart connection to deepen our connections with all beings. … This means that when we open our hearts and trust those connections, we are grounded in a reality that has the power to support us even after death. Maybe these undying qualities of our heart connections are what people intuit when they open themselves to another person and say, ‘I will love you forever.’
